We do not and will never conduct animal testing on any of our products. The EU ban on animal-tested cosmetic products was first passed in 1993, with the full ban taking effect from 11 March 2013, when the EU completed the prohibition on the sale of animal-tested cosmetics anywhere in the world.

At Love Ocean, we always formulate to the extremely high regulatory standards set by these markets. But we always want to do more. To provide you with as much confidence as we can that we adhere to the high standards we’ve set ourselves, we’ve our sights set on achieving Cruelty Free International’s Leaping Bunny accreditation, which is internationally recognised as the gold standard in cruelty-free certification.

Every part of our journey so far has been rigorously undertaken with that goal in mind and it’s our promise to you that we’ll complete that certification as soon as we’re able to. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on our journey along that path.

Our products aren’t certified as organic. However, we do choose to use organic ingredients where it is relevant, sustainable and affordable to do so. Every seaweed within our marine blend, for example, is organic.

Yes, absolutely. We pride ourselves on delivering highly natural, effective formulations that first and foremost consider the delicate nature of a child’s skin. Our Bubble Bath is 99% natural and our Hair & Body Wash is 98% natural.

We define natural products as products that use ingredients that are from nature and derived from nature. The %-natural quoted on our products is calculated using the method and standard set by ISO 16128 (International Organisation for Standardisation), which provides guidelines on definitions for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients.

These guidelines are specific to the cosmetics sector (taking into account that most existing approaches written for the agricultural and food sector aren’t directly transferrable to cosmetics). They apply scientific judgment and offer principles towards a consistent logical framework for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients

Yes. Our delicate seascape fragrance is ocean-inspired with marine top notes, lavender middle notes and base notes of moss and musk. The creation of our fragrance was mindful of the sensitivity of children as the intended user and is compliant to the strictest regulations.

For four decades, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has set the boundaries for fragrance creation to ensure consumers can enjoy the art of perfumery with confidence. The standards ban, limit or set criteria for the use of certain ingredients, based on scientific evidence and consumer insights.

Love Ocean’s fragrance complies with IFRA standards relevant to the types of products in which they’re used. As ever, however, we want to do more and it’s our promise to you that as soon as we can we’ll dermatologically test our products so that we can extend that final reassurance to our customers.

Our preference is always to use plant oils with more child-specific benefits than palm, so we don’t use palm oil as an ingredient in our products. It’s possible, however, that palm oil may be present as a very small percentage in other ingredients we use. In these instances, our palm oil is always responsibly sourced through the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a not-for-profit organisation that unites stakeholders from the seven sectors of the palm oil industry to develop and implement sustainable palm. No, we chose not to use SLS because children’s skin tends to be more sensitive and these ingredients can generate reactions in sensitive skins. Instead, we use some of the many beautiful plant-based alternatives that gently cleanse while also providing kid-friendly foam.

Our formulations are dedicated to the delicate needs of a child's skin, which makes them suitable for most skin types including dry and sensitive. However, if your child is prone to sensitivity and allergies, we'd always recommend patch testing every new product you use on your child's skin. All Love Ocean products are lovingly and expertly crafted in an award-winning lab near the beach in Suffolk by the same small, highly-skilled team that have been creating products for some of the Britain’s most renowned brands for over two decades. It’s a perfect partnership. Like Gabi’s, the family-run business has a company philosophy firmly rooted in natural ingredients, innovation and sustainability. For the Love Ocean range, every ingredient has been carefully selected to both gentle and highly effective in beautifully balanced formulations that are a minimum of 97% natural.

After researching many possible refill options we decided that the most suitable and ocean friendly option is to use a mono LDPE refill pouch with a PP spout that is durable enough to be washed and reused multiple times, which at the end of its life can then be recycled via a specialist recycler. 

Our 1L pouches should fill your Love Ocean bottle more than three times which means less plastic bottles being used once and thrown away. It also means there is less packaging, less postage and our carbon footprint is reduced as we are not delivering new product every month. 

Once your pouch is empty you can send it back to us in our prepaid envelope and we will wash them, refill them and ensure they are reused. We anticipate each pouch can be used upto 4 times.

Our 1 L pouches should fill your Love Ocean bottle more than three times and, if you join our auto-replenishment service, then not only will you never run out of your favourite Love Ocean product but you will save money too. The pouch’s easy-to-use spout makes it simple to pour and refill your Love Ocean bottle and once the pouch is empty you can send it back to us to reuse and refill.

Step 1 - Remove the whale tail overcap from the bottle.

Step 2 - Unscrew the push-pull top from the bottle.

Step 3 - Unscrew the cap from the pouch and pour into the bottle until about 2cm under the top of the bottle.

Step 4 - Screw both of the caps back on tightly, ensure the push-pull lid is pushed into the down position and replace the whale tail overcap.

Please remember to return your empty Love Ocean pouches in the enclosed pre-paid envelope and we will wash it, refill it and reuse it.

All standard UK deliveries will be sent tracked via Hermes, and will be with you between 2–5 working days after placing your order. Please note, working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public & bank holidays

Unfortunately we cannot currently ship to destinations outside of the UK or PO boxes in the UK.

Deliveries are made Monday–Friday between 8am–8pm.

Once your order’s despatched, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can track your parcel; Hermes will contact you to advise you of your delivery slot.

No signature is required on delivery. Please be aware the parcel may be left in a safe place (which is done at the driver’s discretion). If you know you won't be at home during delivery hours, please provide an alternative delivery address where someone will be available to receive the parcel.

We take missing orders very seriously and while they’re unlikely, sometimes they can unfortunately occur. For this we apologise. If you haven’t received your items by the allotted delivery date, please visit www.hermes.co.uk and enter your tracking number or contact their customer services team or email us at customercare@loveocean.com.

We hope that you are happy with your order but should you decide that you no longer want the item you’ve chosen we are happy to refund or exchange the product as long as it is in its original, unopened packaging and in an unused condition. You have 14 days to return the item(s) to us starting from the day after you received the product.

Please notify us via email at customercare@loveocean.com with your reasons for the return and we will provide you with further information on how to return the item. If you are returning goods simply because they are unwanted or no longer required you will be responsible for the cost of returning them.

To help us identify your order and supply you with a returns form, remember to include the following details in your email, your name and address, order number, products you ordered, order date, date received.

We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund if items are opened and non -saleable. Please click here to see the full cancellation right section in our terms and conditions. Following your return of the products, we will provide you with a full refund as soon as possible and, in any event, within 14 days of us processing your return. We will refund you by the same method you used to pay.  Advice about your legal right to cancel the contract is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

Sometimes due to human error, you could receive the wrong item. If this occurs please notify us as soon as possible by email at customercare@loveocean.com at so we can ensure we can get the right product sent to you and organise the collection of the incorrect product back to us in the most convenient way.
