December Founder's Tales

December Founder's Tales

I used to love the Christmas build up when I worked in the magazine industry so many fun Christmas media events and parties and a time to celebrate end of year targets being met and declining client demands.

As a start-up business founder the Christmas build up is very different, almost the opposite, the workload ramps up with endless hours of content planning, site preparation and stock checks.  It's a time for testing, learning and opportunity.

For all small businesses each new year brings a new and exciting chapter.  For me it's about shaping new visions and intentions not just for the business but for my own personal and spiritual growth too. I believe the two are completely interconnected, one cannot grow without the other.

At this time of year we hear a lot of talk about resolutions, putting things off until the New Year. Which comes from place of 'I will' do better, be better. A few years ago I learnt about the yoga philosophy of the Sankalpa practice for intention setting. A sankalpa practice starts from the radical premise that you already are who you need to be to fulfil your life’s purpose. All you need to do is focus your mind, and connect to your most heartfelt desires.

So this year join me with throwing away the list of resolutions that will be broken by the 3rd jan.....and let's sit with the intention that we already have what we need inside, we just have to get quiet enough to hear it.

Happy Holidays and happy New Year from me!
